What is K-ACT?

Watch the video below.

K-ACT stands for Koreans Act against Cancer and Tobacco. It's a cross-cultural initiative by the University of Southern California and Korean-American community to explore risk factors for stomach cancer and promote well-being in the community.

Korean Americans

have the highest gastric cancer risk in the United States. When compared to whites, Korean Americans are 5 times more likely to get gastric cancer.

Our Mission

Researchers at University of Southern California are collaborating with Koreatown Senior & Community Center to study two known risk factors for gastric cancer in the Korean community: Helicobacter pylori (bacteria) infection and smoking (firsthand and secondhand).
